LOST IN SPACE Reboot Gets New Action-Packed Trailer

Premiering April 13, Netflix's Lost in Space stars Toby Stephens (Black Sails) as Dr. John Robinson, Molly Parker (Deadwood) as Dr. Maureen Robinsin, Taylor Russell (Falling Skies) as Judy Robinson, Mina Sundwall as Penny Robinson, Maxwell Jenkins (Betrayal) as Will Robinson, Parker Posey as Dr. Smith and Ignacio Serricchio as the ship's pilot, Don West.

The 1965 original series followed the Robinson family, who are selected by the USA government to colonize a planet of the nearby Alpha Centauri system. Netflix has dropped a new extended trailer, which depicts the disaster that left the Robinsons hopelessly stranded.

Need something new to watch on Netflix? On their way, something goes wrong and the Robinsons end up on the wrong planet where they are forced to find a way to survive.

Set 30 years in the future, the ten-episode series is based on the CBS series which ran for three seasons from 1965.

The trailer promises a combination of alien-world action and family drama, which sounds great, but we really just want to know more about that wild-looking Robot. The new footage also introduces a modern take on the Robot, Will Robinson's constant companion from the show's original incarnation. But when the new colonists find themselves abruptly torn off course en route to their new home they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a unsafe alien environment, light-years from their original destination. As well as a largely anonymous cast (bolstered by the brilliant Parker Posey, at least), the classic robot has also seen an "upgrade" into some unsettling, humanoid being far cry from his original, clunky, reassuring, crap-chic design.

The trailer for Netflix's Lost in Space reboot series has crash landed, and it's intense.
