Speaking at the inaugural session of the UP Investors Summit 2018 in Lucknow today, Modi said, "UP mein buniyaad tayar ho chuki hai jis par naye Uttar Pradesh ki bhavya aur divya imaarat ka nirmaan hoga (The foundation to a new Uttar Pradesh has been laid, which will lead to a huge strong building)". The Prime Minister also said that global airports will come up in Jewar and Kushinagar. "Let's see which state becomes a trillion dollar economy first".

"The way investors and entrepreneurs have gathered here and are taking keen interest in Uttar Pradesh shows that the state is moving ahead on the path of development", he added.

"The Uttar Pradesh government is making different policies for different sectors, for example it is combining the industrial investment with, job opportunities".

The companies that assured investments over the next five years included Reliance Jio (Rs 10,000 crore), Adani group (Rs 35,000 crore), Aditya Birla Group (Rs 25,000 crore), Essel Group (Rs 18,750 crore) and Mahindra & Mahindra (Rs 200 crore).

N. Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, said Tata group is committed to participating in UP's growth across sectors, including in manufacturing, IT and services. Modi said the Kumbh Mela could improve tourism.
