Suspicious report claims iPhone SE 2 launching at WWDC

A new report claims Apple iPhone SE 2 with a bigger 4.2-inch display will be launched at WWDC 2018, which is Apple's developer conference that takes place in June.

It's not clear if Apple plans on making the iPhone SE 2 bigger to accommodate this extra screen space or if it'll cut down on the bezels flanking the panel. As for the price is concerned, the iPhone SE 2 is reported to be priced at 4,000 Yuan in China, which roughly translates to Rs 40,858.

The Apple Post reported on Monday that clues are pointing to Apple hosting its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) between Monday June 4th and Friday June 8th at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California, the same venue used previous year for WWDC 2017.

The upgraded hardware, not to mention wireless charging and other potential features could mean that you could end up paying more for the iPhone SE 2, but will you? Apple iPhone SE is a budget device, and it is likely that if a second variant is launched it will have a similar pricing. It may feature the Apple 10 Fusion chipset that powered the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus smartphones from 2016. According to Kuo's note, there will be an iPhone X for 2018, an iPhone X Plus with a 6.2-inch display and an iPhone X with an LCD display, which will be 6.1-inches in size. Apple is also manufacturing the iPhone SE in India.

The iPhone SE 2, as rumors are claiming could be a smaller screen version of the iPhone 7.

Whenever the iPhone SE 2 does arrive, the report asserts that it'll look just like its predecessor, complete with a Touch ID-supporting home button and a metal back and frame.
