PUBG region lock is happening, third map is on its way

PUBG Corporation continues to optimize its Royal battle and now sitting in the plane, you will not see other fighters. According to the developers, the new PUBG Maps are also been worked on and will be revealed in March.

"In December 2017, we announced that we were considering introducing a maximum ping limit to improve the game environment for our players". This will basically tell everyone what's coming and when, but was delayed while the studio focused on anti-cheating tech.

One such method to help with this is ping-based matchmaking, which would "divide the matching pool depending on ping", describes PUBG Corp.

PUBG PC Update 6 patch notes have been released for the 4.1 GB patch now rolling out to the Test Server. "The team is expecting to improve the overall play experience by splitting the matching pool rather than restricting connection depending on ping".

This provides a useful lesson for companies looking to get into the battle royale genre on the back of PUBG and Fortnite's success - just because some companies are doing well doesn't mean everyone will. The first trials for this, which could prove pretty terminal for those playing in regions other than their own, will begin this week. In March, the team will reveal what you can expect from us in the first half of 2018 in terms of our development and new content plans which, by the way, include a new map. Specific dates will be shared when ready. Even if we're far away, Brendan Greene has promised that modding will be enabled, so the community can take part in creating their game modes soon.

With that being said, the test servers are now online, offering new optimizations, and Bluehole has published the recent changes.

Your enjoyment of PUBG remains our number one priority.
