Alleged images of HTC's unannounced U12 surface showing off slim bezels

The HTC U12, the maker's next flagship, has just surfaced at a Taiwan 5G industry event showing off its LTE+ prowess.

When it comes to bezel-less smartphones, one big brand that has been off the list is HTC. Since the phone was displayed at the Taiwan 5G Industry Alliance, it is safe to say HTC is pushing for the 5G technology in the near future. However, that is going to change as the company's first smartphone to sport an edge-to-edge display has been announced.

According to well-known leakster Evan Blass, the mysterious flagship phone seen in the video below is none other than the upcoming HTC U12 flagship that is codenamed as HTC Imagine. We weren't expecting much from HTC though, with its next flagship - the HTC U12 - rumoured to be launched further down the line.

While HTC did not leak a word about the handset per se, it did however mention that the particular handset is capable of delivering download speeds of 809.58 Mbps, close to 1Gbps.

Based on reports from Sogi, a Taiwanese publication, HTC will be launching the U12 somewhere in 2018, but no official confirmation has come from HTC. HTC revealed the U11 in May of 2017, so it's possible the company will show off this device around the same time. The Qualcomm is the only processor that supports LAA on its Snapdragon 835 chipset. There is a possibility that the handset may arrive in the market with a different moniker.
