Asus ZenFone 3 Starts Receiving The Android Oreo Update

After treating the Nokia 8, 5 and 6 to public Android 8.0 beta programs, and releasing stable OS promotions for the 8, 7 and 6 (2018), the distinguished Finnish brand's exclusive licensee is today officially welcoming the Nokia 5 and 6 to the Oreo family.

The update for the smartphone has been announced by Juho Sarvikas, Chief Officer at HMD Global in his official twitter handle.

The update is being rolled out in a phased manner globally and India is among the first countries to receive the update. Since the latest security updates come with updated security features and bug fixes that protect the device from vulnerabilities.

Along with Nokia 6, Nokia 5 is also receiving the Android Oreo update.

Nokia 2 features a 5-inch display which is packed in a shell of aluminum and plastic. The update package is around 1.5GB in size and brings nearly all the neat features that Oreo has on offers, such as notification dots, picture-in-picture (PiP) and detailed notification settings. The smartphones will also bring to the fore the picture-in-picture mode; this allows the users to perform two tasks simultaneously. Asus said that update is rolling gradually and it could about as long as a week for you to get the update. Users can also check for the update manually be heading over to Settings System Check for Update. The update weighs in at almost 1.6GB, so it's quite a sizable download. The Android Oreo has other great features including Background limits, the installation of apps via APK, over 60 great and newly developed emojis, notification dots, and a Wide-gamut color palette for apps. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 435 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and a 3,000mAh battery. The phone has a 5.2-inch 720p LCD display and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card. Talking about the camera, it carries a 16MP main rear camera and a 13MP front-facing snapper.
