Courtois slams Chelsea fans after Leicester draw

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has suggested that fatigue played a part in his side drawing a blank against Leicester City this afternoon.

With 20 minutes to go Ben Chilwell was sent off for the Foxes, who arguably had the better of the chances, but Antonio Conte's men couldn't find an opening with Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas both withdrawn to the bench.

Asked about his side's lack of goals recently, he said: "I think the problem is for the team, not only for Morata".

"A lot of time defenders have had chances to score but didn't take them".

"When we play out from the back it's important for us that they know that we want to do that".

It had always been his intention to field largely the same players against Leicester as against Arsenal, in last Wednesday's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg, and he once again lamented the size of his squad.

Conte said: "I saw many players exhausted, but don't forget we played a massive game on Wednesday night against Arsenal and then I chose to pick the same formation after two-and-a-half days, and maybe I made a mistake because many players didn't recover from this effort".

"During the game I understood many players didn't recover from the game against Arsenal", Conte said on Chelsea TV. Very exhausted. I think we played with tiredness.

"I think, today, I saw a lot of players very exhausted".

"We suffered a lot in the first half and at the start of the second half, when I chose to put on fresh energy the game changed. But at the end I think the result was fair".

Chelsea face Norwich in a FA Cup third round replay on Wednesday, and will be hopeful they can get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
