Man dies in wrong-way crash in rural Osceola County, troopers say

The FDOT traffic cameras also showed serious traffic backups on southbound I-95 as motorists came up on the crash scene.

A father was killed and his 15-year old daughter critically injured in an early morning crash near Kyle Canyon on Friday, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The Highway Patrol also reported a second, separate accident on I-95 northbound at Florida 206, just south of the fatal crash scene.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash.

The arrest report said Knox took the young boy from the auto and let him wander toward traffic while she urinated on the side of the road.

Florida Highway Patrol, on Twitter, said there was at least one "trauma alert" at the crash and all lanes had to be shut down to land a helicopter for the injured person.

Michael Vanpelt, 29 of Zephyrhills, was driving a 2016 Dodge westbound in the eastbound lanes of State Road 60 near Peavine Road around 3:45 a.m. when he crashed head-on into a semitruck traveling the other way, troopers said.

No further details were immediately released.

Last year, 44 people were killed in 41 crashes.
