Barack Obama Reveals Favorite Books, Songs of 2017

Former American President Barack Obama concluded his year 2017 by disclosing his reading list which included Pakistani writer Mohsin Hamid's latest work Exit West.

While he was president of the United States, Obama was very open about his love for pop culture in the eight years he spent in the office, he built relationships with a lot of icons in music, fashion, literature and other fields.

He has since then built a relationship with music and movie icons.

In a December 31, 2017 post on Facebook, the former president revived a tradition he started while in the White House, and shared his reading list and playlist from 2017. "With some extra time on my hands this year to catch up, I wanted to share the books and music I enjoyed most".

It is no secret by now that Obama is tight friends with multiple artists whose tracks made it to the list of his annual favourites, including Chance the Rapper, and of course, JAY-Z and his wife Beyoncé, who also collaborated on her husband's track "Family Feud".

One of Obama's favorite songs this year was "Humble" by Kendrick Lamar.

Is anyone else having trouble picturing the former President singing along to Wild Thoughts by DJ Khaled?

His books list includes "Grant", by Ron Chernow, "Exit West", by Moshin Hamid, "Anything is Possible", by Elizabeth Strout and Amy Goldstein's "Janesville: An American Story".
