Auto flies into the second floor of California office building

This was the scene in Santa Ana on Sunday morning (14 January) after a auto launched into the air and crashed through the second floor of a dental office, becoming partially wedged.

Firefighters from Los Angeles County and the Orange County Fire Authority extricated the occupants of the vehicle while its front end was still lodged high in the building.

Fire crews were on hand to put out a brief fire to the building.

Officials removed the vehicle from the building Sunday morning.

A fire sparked in the building following the collision, but it was extinguished quickly. The passenger inside the auto also later managed to escape the vehicle.

The driver admitted to using drugs, according to KNBC.

The driver and passenger were rescued and transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The incident caused a small fire that injured one person, who managed to get out of the sedan unassisted, the OCFA said.

OCFA and LA County Urban Search and Rescue teams then began working together to remove the vehicle from the building using a large truck and crane.
