The biggest gap between a Nintendo Direct Mini and a regular Nintendo Direct is 20 days.

This is just one in a slew of positive news coming for the Nintendo Switch console with it also having recently outsold both its competitors, Sony's PlayStation and Microsoft's Xbox One, in December previous year in the United States.

The DS version of the game utilized the console's unique features, such as shouting through the microphone, performing motions on the touchscreen, so it will be interesting to see what the Switch version of the game will be bringing to the table. Dark Souls has never been available on a Nintendo console, but a graphically-updated version of the original game will land on the Switch in May.

Other announcements included confirmation that Payday 2 was coming to Switch on February 27th, and free DLC for Super Mario Odyssey launching in February. But Nintendo also announced that Donkey Kong will make his debut on Switch this year, with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze releasing on May 4th. His move set, which includes a spike-resistant surfboard, double jump, hover and infinite rolls and underwater corkscrews will allow novice players to enjoy the title when it launches on May 4th.

Wii U's Zelda-themed battle game is headed to Switch complete with all of the characters, maps, missions, and DLC from both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game. Wave 2, will be on March 23, will introduce the battle character Blastoise along with a support set of Mew and Celebi. Mario Tennis Aces was announced for a spring 2018 release - it will have story mode, the first since Mario Tennis: Power Tour on the Game Boy Advance. In the video, he is shown using a banana as a boomerang and fighting it what appears to be a new jungle location. The game is titled Dark Souls: Remastered and will release for all major platforms.
