Dark Souls Remastered is on its way - PC, PS4, Xbox, Switch

Last year, Dark Souls mastermind Hidetaka Miyazaki declared his twisted action role-playing series complete with the launch of its Ringed City DLC.

With Dark Souls Remastered releasing on four platforms, it would be cool if crossplay were implemented in some way.

Bandai Namco has announced that Dark Souls: Remastered will be inviting courageous adventurers to revisit the risky realm of Lordran, when it launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC this May. In addition to the Switch version, Dark Souls Remastered will also be slashing its way onto PS4 and Xbox One. And this time the game adds the first story mode since the Mario Tennis game on Game Boy Advance, offering a new flavor of tennis gameplay, with a variety of missions and boss battles.

It looks like the rumors were true, and the newest Nintendo Direct presentation has just been unleashed upon the world. The most recent entry in the Dark Souls franchise, Dark Souls 3, came to consoles and PC in early 2016.

Dark Souls Remastered also features online functionality, allowing you to either seriously bugger up someone's game or aid them against the various critters that inhabit the sumptuous, gothic realm of Lordran.

So far the only thing we know for sure is improved in Dark Souls Remastered is the framerate and resolution. The game was later ported to Windows PC in 2012 as Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition.
