Dark Souls Remastered Announced!

It was just a matter of time before From Software's hardcore action-RPG was going to make its way to the Nintendo Switch.

During today's Nintendo Direct Mini, Nintendo announced via Bandai Namco that Dark Souls: Remastered would be bringing its classic brand of challenging, satisfying darkness to the Switch as well as the Artorias of the Abyss DLC.

A Dark Souls Trilogy Box Set has been announced by Bandai Namco, but at present, it's only listed for Japan. It's finally happening, and it is certainly glorious. Also, 1080p resolution with 30FPS is available when playing the game on Nintendo Switch with its TV mode. The game will run at an upscaled 4K and 60fpss on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. Pc players will have the option to run at a native 4K resolution. That's right, all three consoles will be receiving the game come May 25th, 2018 later this year during the spring.

Similar to the Scholar of the First Sin edition of Dark Souls 2, the remaster will allow up to six players to join a game session - and increase of two over the original Dark Souls - though there's no confirmation on the mix of white (co-op) and black (pvp) phantoms.

Hidden in the world of Dark Souls: Remastered are nine online covenants to uncover that will motivate your online interactions. The major selling point for numerous Switch's titles is being able to make use of the HD Rumble, or the touchscreen controls, or the motion controls. It's also coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
