Carrie Underwood, Ludacris Team Up For Super Bowl

Carrie Underwood, who has opened NBC's "Sunday Night Football" show the last five seasons, will open Super Bowl LII with a video filmed previous year of her song "The Champion".

Readers can press play above to hear "The Champion", which she co-wrote in 2017 with Brett James, Chris DeStefano and Ludacris, whom Underwood sought out for the collaboration.

The Champion and its accompanying video will air at the beginning of the telecast before the big American football game, which will take place at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota on 4 February (18). "We hope the lyrics will inspire people to push themselves beyond their limits to conquer anything they are trying to accomplish or overcome".

NBC liked the song so much the network is also using it for its winter Olympics coverage. The singer released an upbeat and anthemic new single, "The Champion", on Thursday, and it features an unexpected guest-Ludacris.

NBC plans to air their video for "The Champion" before its coverage of the National Football League championship game. The one-time American Idol victor has been opening Sunday Night Football for the past five NFL seasons, and now she's doing something special for this Super Bowl.
