Arda Turan joins Istanbul Basaksehir from Barcelona on loan deal

Barcelona have officially confirmed that Arda Turan will be loaned to Basaksehir in a deal that sees the Turkey global join the club until 2020.

However, Barca will maintain the right to sell the 30-year old to any other club, though, until the expiry of his contract at Camp Nou in 2020.

Turan joined the club from Atletico Madrid for 34 million euros (£29 million) plus add-ons in July 2015, winning six trophies but only making 55 appearances and scoring 15 goals.

Although Turan moved from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona in the summer of 2015, he made his debut in January 2016 due to a Federation Internationale de Football Association transfer ban on the Catalan side.

During his 18 months under Enrique there were highs, including two hat tricks last season, but he was mainly used as a substitute.

Turan had not made a single appearance for the current La Liga leaders this term after he was seemingly frozen out of the senior set up by first-team head coach Ernesto Valverde.

Basaksehir club president Goksel Gumusdag said in a statement: 'Arda Turan is returning to his country wearing the orange kit (of Basaksehir).

The Turkish worldwide is the first of several players Barcelona expect to see leave this month following the signings of Philippe Coutinho and Yerry Mina.
