President Donald Trump, center, speaks with reporters as he arrives for a New Year's Eve gala at his Mar-a-Lago resort with first lady Melania Trump and their son Barron, Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, in Palm Beach, Fla.

The White House said Trump been briefed on New Year's Eve security precautions around the country and will continue to monitor those efforts. It's gonna be a fantastic 2018, "Donald Trump went on to say".

The President also "underscored the importance of Governor Scott's leadership in Florida, and the two indicated that they look forward to working together in the New Year".
