James Franco wins Best Actor in Musical or Comedy — Globes

"Ok wait. Bye. Christian Slater and James Franco at a table [at the] Golden Globes #MeToo".

The Disaster Artist is also nominated for Best Picture, Comedy or Musical.

And it wasn't because he cracked a side-splitting one-liner...

James started: "The person I have to thank is the man himself, Tommy Wiseau". "So, it wasn't like he was pretending to be Tommy, but it was like James using Tommy's speech pattern and accent".

But James wasn't having any of it and elbowed the cult legend out of the way... awkward. His brother Dave did good as well.

Tither-Kaplan also called out the Golden Globe victor for allegedly failing to give actresses speaking roles unless it involved nudity.

"This was billed as a movie about making the best worst movie ever made", the four-time Golden Globe nominee said as he held his trophy, "but in fact it's a story about friendship". "Golden Globes? So what, I'm not invited". She also wrote, "If a famous actor who has the ability to make or break my career with the snap of his fingers offers me a part, I don't have bargaining power".

You get it. It was Franco's moment to enjoy the praise of his peers over a movie he made likely only to stand on that very stage and enjoy the praise of his peers.

Naturally viewers had a lot to say about the shock snub but opinion were divided.

After Franco's name was called, Wiseau bolted from the far back of the room to meet James and his little brother/costar Dave Franco onstage - and headed straight for the microphone. If he can pull off a win at the Academy Awards, there's no way he's NOT bringing Tommy on stage at the Oscars.

With The Disaster Artist, James Franco transforms the tragicomic true-story of aspiring filmmaker and infamous Hollywood outsider Tommy Wiseau-an artist whose passion was as honest as his methods were questionable-into a celebration of friendship, artistic expression, and dreams pursued against insurmountable odds.

Others praised the actor turned director for his move.

In case you don't know who Wiseau is, we can't provide much in the way of clarity because nobody knows where he comes from, how old he is or how he came up with the money to buy all the equipment required to make The Room. Without Tommy Wiseau, there would be no Disaster Artist.
