HTC U11 EYEs Coming on January 15: Specs and Features

This new smartphone of HTC is having IP67 certification to be water and dust-resistant.

The HTC U11 EYEs will be launching next week on January 15 and the company has confirmed this via an invite posted on Chinese social media site Weibo. The rumor mill had speculated that the Ocean Harmony will launch in December as HTC U11 EYEs.

Taiwanese smartphone company HTC announced the launch of the new phone HTC U11 Eyes in Taipei, Hong Kong, and Beijing on January 15.

The HTC Desire Eye smartphone from 2014 featured a huge selfie camera. The smartphone is now leaked in HD renders along with some important specifications. The Snapdragon 652 will work in tandem with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal or native storage; the Snapdragon 660 variant will boast 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage.

The U11 EYEs will launch with Android Nougat. The handset will house a 3930mAh battery and a USB Type-C port for charging. Also take note of the smaller bezels up front and the fingerprint sensor on the back, which is a welcome change in my EYEs (ha, pun).

In an interview with Engadget last year, HTC President Chialin Chang had also said "We'll definitely be releasing a dual-camera phone next year, but we'll need to figure out how to make this feature stand out". Blass in his tweet also reveals the the U11 EYEs will be available in Black, Silver and Red colour options. Besides, there is also onboard the superb aspect ratio of 18:9 while it rocks the all-new Super LCD-5 display panel.

Mr. Blass expects the U11 EYEs to retail for 3,299 yen ($510) but didn't have any information to share regarding availability, though earlier reports pegged Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan as launch markets.
