The Kotb critic later clarified that her issue didn't stem from Kotb being a woman. "This has to be the most popular decision NBC News has ever made", Guthrie said. Obviously, not all of Kotb's white counterparts are making more than she is, but it's telling that when attracting Megyn Kelly, NBC was willing to throw a bunch of money at her.

"Today" anchor Hoda Kotb tells People that she prioritizes being happy at work over salary. "Hoda, you are a partner, and a friend, and a sister, and I am so happy to be doing this". Though Hoda was just given the coveted co-anchor job on Tuesday, Jan. 2, she's been with the network for almost 10 years since joining in 2008.

For those who enjoy the fun morning bicker between Hoda and Kathie Lee, do not fear.

Guthrie and Kotb will co-anchor the 7-9 a.m. hours of TODAY, along with weather anchor Al Roker and Orange Room host Carson Daly. News. 'And he said some nice words'. Numerous show's viewers found the moment cringe-worthy when Kotb referred to the text she had received from show's former host. "I wanted to feel good throughout", she explained.
