Hearn: Pacquiao, Brook, Thurman & Spence All Big Fights for Khan

The 31-year-old former world champion will end an absence of nearly two years when he returns to the ring at The Echo Arena, Liverpool, on April 21, with an opponent to be announced.

"It's time to put everything that's happened behind me and become a champion again", Hearn added.

"Then I had the hand injury, and I was waiting for the hand to get better".

In the past, Khan has spoken of his dislike for Hearn. "Just as important a factor was the opportunity to fight in the United Kingdom for the first time in five years, and to do so with the support of the British fans and Sky Sports behind me".

"One of the biggest stars in world boxing is back at a time when British boxing is booming", Hearn said.

AMIR KHAN admits he thought his boxing career was over past year when a fight against Manny Pacquiao fell through.

That humbling experience also focused Khan on ending his feud with his previous promoter, Eddie Hearn, who he had accused of being the "unlikeable" barrier to a long-awaited domestic blockbuster of a fight with Kell Brook. "Boxing is everything for me and I will make sure that I achieve the highest goals", Khan said. I always said that to him. "I just don't like Eddie Hearn", the recently I'm a Celebrity contestant once said.

'He's very disrespectful and he's never come clear with me.

As for making up with Hearn, he says: 'I had found out that I couldn't be my own promoter.

"When Pacquiao went and I heard Kell Brook went up a weight I thought "where do I go from here". I really belong at world title level, getting into the ring in Liverpool is just going to get me back moving again, it will show me where I am, and how long I need for a world title fight.

With Brook already signed on to fight Sergey Rabchenko in March of this year, Hearn is keen for Khan to fight a significant opponent, knowing full well it could be a warm up to the much awaited Brook-Khan fight. We pride ourselves in taking a deeper look into the fighter, and understanding what makes them tick. Kell is a bit shocked that we're doing this but I think he knows it can be good for him, too'.

Brook warned that he is seriously considering hanging up the gloves at the end of 2018 and says a long-awaited fight between him and Khan has to happen this year.
