'Flight of the Conchords' Returning to HBO With Comedy Special

The Conchords are back in flight!

The comedy-musical series debuted in 2007 and starred Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement as a folk duo trying to make it in New York City.

After hinting at a return last week, Flight of the Conchords have officially confirmed that they will be releasing an hour-long comeback special on HBO this May.

The upcoming special will apparently feature a selection of old Flight of the Conchords favourites, as well as new material.

Nine years after their hit comedy series ended, New Zealand's Flight of the Conchords are returning to television.

It only ran for two seasons, but this was enough for it to gain a fierce cult following, especially in the United Kingdom where it was broadcast on BBC Two. The show was praised by critics and beloved by fans, turning the cult favorites into an worldwide sensation. Two years later, they debuted their original series Flight of the Conchords, in which they played fictional versions of themselves.

The Conchords have also enjoyed individual success.
