Ezekiel Elliott Returns From Six-Game Suspension Ripped, Leaner

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Elliott is expected to report to the team on Monday, and it would be a shock if he is not back in the lineup against the Seahawks on Christmas Eve. That country turns out to have been Mexico, and Rapoport said Sunday that Elliott not only was in "six weeks of intensive training" there, but that the back had been "meeting with some mentors to help him get some other parts of his life better". He gets guys going with his attitude and his passion and love for the game.

The Cowboys removed Elliott from the reserve/suspended list and cut running back to make room for him on the active roster.

Ezekiel Elliott has completed his six-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. Jones has criticized the league's ability to supersede the law of the land since no charges were brought against Elliott by law enforcement.

"We're excited about Zeke", Jones said.

The Cowboys went 3-3 during Elliott's absence, dropping their first three games before going on a three-game win streak. He rushed for 783 yards and seven touchdowns in the Cowboys' first eight games, running for at least 80 yards in seven of those contests.

That said, to judge from photos released recently by Elliott's agent, the Dallas running back wasn't spending his six-week suspension sitting on a couch shoveling down pints of ice cream. "Now we lost games when we had Zeke, so that doesn't just mean that we don't have to get out here and compete these last two ballgames".

Elliott was averaging 19.9 FanDuel points per game before his suspension. "Obviously, he was very productive for us the first half of the season, productive as a runner, did a lot of really good things for our football team".

"We need him back and it's exciting to have him back". He's going to take some pressure off everybody else. They rebounded with wins against the Washington Redskins and New York Giants before their victory Sunday against the Raiders. He's just that kind of player and he's been that kind of player for us. "But we'll certainly embrace Zeke being back". They now sit 8-6 and would make massive headway in the NFC Wild Card race with a win next week against the Seattle Seahawks. They stayed afloat by going 3-3 without him, and are still facing an uphill battle to make the playoffs.
