Is Apple bringing drag-and-drop to the iPhone? It's possible

Luckily, iOS 11's new compression means your photos and videos will take up half the space they used to.

"They don't need to convince anybody, not when you look at what iOS 11 will be delivering", said Carolina Milanesi of Creative Strategies, when asked why Apple did not restate its "iPad is a computer" message from the stage of the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) Monday.

The new drag and drop feature is a Mac stalwart too. With the update, Apple has added the ability for users to see what your friends are listening to, so that you can find new music.

Other enhancements that those with an attention for detail might notice is the improved retina display which, with their new ProMotion technology, helps users with using the Apple Pencil.

There are some things we like about the early version of Apple's iPad Air iOS 11 update. The folder animation is often jagged and jerky and opening apps takes a few seconds longer than it did on iOS 10.3.2.

When the iPhone was first released a decade ago, it didn't even have a copy and paste function.

IOS 11 is now going through developer testing and, while we expect Apple to add features closer to the launch of its new iPhones, it has already highlighted some of the big changes you can expect. When your storage runs low, a new optional feature will automatically remove apps you don't use very often. Apple's iOS 11, also available in the fall, gains a ton of new enhancements that range from detailed floor plans of airport and mall interiors in the Maps app to a redesigned App Store. Your handwritten notes will even be searchable.

Mind you, it's straight up impossible for average users to enable this feature.

Finally - after three years - Apple looks ready to let users use the one-handed keyboard. Everyone else, who's not into dragging and dropping items, could simply ignore it and use the iPhone just as they did before iOS 11 came around.

This might sound a bit spooky because it conjures up the scary idea that your phone is spying on everything you do. But more cumbersome is the fact that for any "old" notifications, you then have to swipe up to see the others. Once you've been paid via text message you can either use Apple Pay to spend that money at stores and online or you can transfer it to your bank account.

Have you ever installed a new iOS update only to discover problems on board your device?

Augmented reality will be a big part of the iPhone 8 upgrade.

Expect to be viewing even more of the world through your smartphone screen in the coming months and years. Comment what you think of Apple's new 10.5-inch iPad Pro. Live photos now get additional options called Loop and Bounce for creating fun short videos. Before he did that, however, he read the fine print that included in tiny letters, "You will pay $99.99 for a 7-day subscription". Not only is that terrific news for developers, but it's also good for Apple because the company collects 30 percent of the proceeds of app sales and in-app purchases. "Intelligently suggested apps - like ones you opened recently and the last one you were using on your iPhone or Mac - appear in the right side of the Dock", says Apple on its website. It will also offer a better integration across your devices, always learning based on what you're doing across iOS, watchOS, tvOS and iCloud.
