Champions Trophy 2017: Virat Kohli not taking Pakistan lightly

Ahead of the Champions Trophy game against India, Pakistan's top pacer Mohammad Amir admitted he has been dreaming for a five-for against the arch rivals in the crucial match at Edgbaston on Sunday.

Kumble's contract ends this month but the decision to advertise his job ahead of the Champions Trophy, a tournament featuring the world's top eight one-day global sides, led historian Ramachnadra Guha to resign in protest from a a Supreme Court-appointed committee overseeing the Board of Control for Cricket in India. It was very interesting to read the other day - I go through the stats quite regularly - that in the past year we've scored the third-most amount of 300s.

As India and Pakistan lock horns in the Champions Trophy 2017 on Sunday, the sides will not only face the pressure of the duel but also the not-so-familiar position of being in each other's shoes.

Kumble has helped India win all five Test series since his appointment in June a year ago.

"I think in India there is a lack of patience".

"At the end of the day, an India-Pakistan game has got more to do with pressure than anything else". The first match in the city between Australia and New Zealand also had to be called off due to persistent rain delays.

In a tournament featuring the world's top eight one-day global teams, and with just three group games a side, Arthur emphasised how every match counted.

At the time when Kumble was appointed as the head coach of the team, Kohli was the skipper of the test side but later assumed the helm in the limited overs cricket, following MS Dhoni's resignation as the captain.

"I remember the India-Pakistan semi-final in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. The whole journey has been good", he said.

Last time India played against Pakistan was during the T20 World Cup in 2016. "I don't feel, I have to do something extra to get something as captain", concluded the skipper. He bowls what I call the Pakistani Yorker' nearly at will.

The ICC Champions Trophy Group B match between India and Pakistan begins at 3:00 PM IST.

Former Indian captain Azharuddin also agreed with Aamir Sohail and Harbhajan Singh and opined that trade between the two countries goes on as usual despite the tension on border but it is the game which suffers. "On the other hand, it is India who are under pressure as they are going into the game as favourites", said Sarfraz on the eve of the much anticipated encounter. These teams worry us more than Pakistan. I don't focus on things that don't matter to me. One does think about such things too. "You will see us playing to the best of our capabilities". They will have to get the players to relax and ask them to play their natural game.
