Steve Kerr not ready to return to coach Warriors in NBA Finals

Golden State and Cleveland meet in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night. This is what makes this series so intriguing.

But James is always up for a challenge and should never be ruled out. However, the Cavaliers deserve a ton of credit for how they have improved from beyond the arc.

Taylor said the league's schedule makers will work more closely with the networks, trying to reduce travel surrounding nationally televised games while encouraging teams that do rest their stars to do it during home games. We know what LeBron James is capable of, we know what Kyrie Irving is capable of and we know what this team is capable of. The numbers don't lie. Irving went for 26 points a game while shooting an insane 60 percent from the field and 50 percent from three over five games. He is entering his seventh consecutive final, an unprecedented accomplishment in the modern National Basketball Association.

LeBron has made another strong case as to why he might be the greatest of all-time in these playoffs, but this Warriors team may be a bridge too far for even him to overcome. And Steph said, 'It wasn't easy.' Like, 'We put in the work, we came in every single day and put in the work to get to this point to play in June. Cleveland needs to be able to step up its play at the defensive end of the floor in order to slow down the Warriors when it comes to their inside scoring.

James elected not to talk about the Warriors following the game, choosing instead to celebrate a third straight conference title in Cleveland and his seventh consecutive Finals trip.

The Warriors won in 2015 and appeared headed for a repeat win when they sped imposingly ahead by 3-1 in the 2016 National Basketball Association championship.

"We're more versatile offensively, more versatile defensively", Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue said.

The fact is that many fans outside of Northern California don't want to see the Warriors on top. Now, they have added the second-best player in the world, Kevin Durant, to a team that was already neck-and-neck with the Cavaliers. None of those teams are the Warriors. The Warriors are 12-0 overall through the first three rounds; the Cavs are 12-1.

A big part of what ended Golden State last season was the Cavs battering Curry on both ends, resulting in a sorely diminished Curry on offense and a punching bag on defense. Eclipsing the feats written before by Jordan with the Chicago Bulls and by Bryant with the Los Angeles Lakers is just a matter of time for King James. A final decision on Kerr's status will be made prior to Game 1 on Thursday.

According to's John Schuhmann, the Warriors have been the best first- and fourth-quarter team in these playoffs.

"This is a high powered team ... it's going to be very challenging not only on me mentally but on our ballcub and on our franchise".

KD is no stranger to the NBA's biggest stage.
