Leonard's injury spotlights a debated and dangerous NBA play

Popovich lashed out at Zaza Pachulia for the Warriors center's defense on Leonard, telling reporters Monday that the play was "dangerous" and "unsportsmanlike" and citing a past pattern of such actions by Pachulia.

"All I care about is the next game, and we'll see how they come out".

Thankfully, for those of us in the content generation business, Spurs' head coach Gregg Popovich did not take Pachulia's peccadilloes lightly. All I care about is what happened. Golden State boasts the most prolific offense in the league. Then after a brief stint on the bench, he returned and landed on Pachulia's foot on a jumper, which sent Leonard limping to the bench for good. Golden State Warriors' Draymond Green, bottom left, works for a rebound against San Antonio Spurs' Pau Gasol (16) during the first half of Game 2 of the NBA basketball Western Conference finals, Tuesday, May 16, 2017, in. "We have a different technique for guarding shooters". So he's going to do and say, I guess, whatever. We don't need it. So one would logically think maybe it will take longer, but I'm hoping that's not true and we'll have him for Game 3.

"Steph [Curry] shot the ball and LaMarcus Aldridge went to contest and he went up underneath Steph and Steph avoided landing on his ankle by falling to the ground", Brown said.

Was it dirty or just a bad-luck play?

Leonard said he doesn't believe Pachulia fouled him on goal but also admitted he hasn't seen the replay.

"Did he step under it?" I'm not a dirty player. Ultimately, the Spurs aren't going to be able to compete offensively without Kawhi.

San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard, pictured grabbing a rebound against Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California on May 14, 2017, will probably miss Game 2 because of a questionable play by Zaza Pachulia. The Warriors won 113-111. Recovering from a follow-up procedure May 5 at Duke University to fix a spinal fluid leak that stems from a pair of surgeries following the 2015 championship run, the 51-year-old Kerr returned to practice for the first time in more than three weeks Saturday.

"Somebody's got to teach him if the California Highway Patrol tells you to move, you move over", Popovich cracked.

CLIPPERS: The Los Angeles Clippers will have their own team in the NBA's soon-to-be renamed G-League that will be called the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario. Kawhi's an unbelievable player. "We got here just in time".

"We were smart when we got out and pushed the basketball". I wish it didn't happen.

"You can't listen to people on Twitter, they're irrational". And whether intentional or not, they will be penalized.

The Spurs realize they do not stand much of a chance without Leonard, and Pop will look to experiment to find a lineup that could potentially cause problems for Golden State. The Warriors bench made 11 of its first 12 shots while the Spurs as a team made 13 out of 38 in the same exact time frame.

Stephen Curry scored 15 of his game-high 29 points in a 33-16 first-quarter run-away, allowing the Warriors to hold the serve at home that they earned by running up the NBA's best regular-season record.

That's all Pachulia had in mind. Popovich said. "Did they call all those guys (Dirk) Nowitzki landed on when he sprained his ankles the past three, four years?"
